CARTHAGE, Texas (Interstat) — A men’s junior college basketball matchup between two early-season contenders is set for Tuesday as the Chipola Indians visit the Panola Ponies.

Chipola (4-1) enters the contest on a three-game winning streak, most recently edging South Georgia Tech 73-72 last Wednesday. Peyton Wiggins led the Indians in that victory with 14 points, six rebounds and six assists, while Demarco Middleton added a team-high 19 points.

The Panola Ponies (3-1) are coming off an 82-75 home win over Southwestern Christian last Monday. Keenan Emmanuel paced the Ponies with 24 points and six assists in the victory.

The Indians’ lone loss came in overtime against South Georgia Tech in their season opener. Panola’s only blemish was a 63-44 road loss to Odessa on Nov. 15.

Tuesday’s game is the only scheduled meeting between the teams this season. Chipola will host Jones College the following afternoon, while Panola will host Gulf Coast State.
