PENSACOLA, Fla. (Interstat) — An undefeated record will be on the line Tuesday when the Tallahassee State Eagles face the Jones Bobcats in a men’s junior college basketball showdown at the Pensacola State Thanksgiving Classic.

The Eagles (5-0) enter the contest riding high after a dominant 109-62 victory over Wallace State on Monday. Their perfect start has been built on both sides of the ball, though they have shown vulnerability in narrow wins over Santa Fe and Central Georgia earlier this month.

They will face a formidable test in the Bobcats (4-1), whose own unbeaten run was snapped just one day ago in a 74-70 road loss to Gulf Coast State. Prior to that defeat, Jones had been impressive, averaging over 97 points per game in its four consecutive wins to open the season.

The matchup pits Jones’s high-powered offense against a Tallahassee State squad that has proven it can win in both shootouts and defensive battles. The game is a marquee non-conference fixture for both teams in this early-season tournament.

Following this game, Jones will face Chipola on Wednesday, while Tallahassee State is set to host Daytona State.
