FULLERTON, Calif. (Interstat) — Two undefeated California men’s junior college basketball teams, the West Valley Vikings and the Fullerton Hornets, will clash Thursday in a marquee early-season matchup at the Tournament of Champions, hosted by Fullerton College.

Both teams enter the contest with 1-0 records. West Valley opened its season with an 82-66 home victory over Compton on Oct. 31, powered by a strong performance from Donovan Pitts, who scored 18 points. The Vikings also saw a double-double from Brayden Smith, who posted 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Fullerton, the host school, began its campaign with a decisive 77-53 road win over Sequoias on Nov. 1. The Hornets showcased a balanced attack in their opener, setting the stage for a tough test on their home court.

The tournament game will be a brief stop for both squads in a packed non-conference schedule. West Valley will host San Diego City College the following night, while Fullerton is set to host Yuba on Friday.

Tipoff is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, at Fullerton College.
