SAN JOSE, Calif. (Interstat) — The San Jose Jaguars will look to secure their first win of the young season when they host the Palo Verde Pirates in a California men’s junior college basketball matchup Thursday at the San Jose City Tipoff.

San Jose (0-1) opened its season with an 87-75 home loss to Compton on Saturday. The Jaguars have a quick turnaround, scheduled to host Lassen the following night.

Palo Verde (1-1) arrives after a dominant 91-44 road victory at Imperial Valley last Saturday, a performance that followed a season-opening 93-80 loss at Palomar. The Pirates’ offense appears to have found its rhythm after the high-scoring win.

This early-season contest pits a Jaguars team seeking momentum against a Pirates squad aiming to build a winning streak before a demanding homestand. Following this game, Palo Verde embarks on a stretch of eight home games over its next 10 contests.

The game is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025.
