LAS POSITAS, Calif. (Interstat) — The Butte Roadrunners will look to secure their first win of the young season when they face the Las Positas Hawks on Thursday in a men’s junior college basketball game at the Tony Costello Tip-Off Classic.

Butte (0-2) is coming off a 78-67 home loss to Marin on Sunday, which followed a 105-63 road defeat against San Francisco to open the season. The Roadrunners’ defense will be tested as they seek to reverse their early struggles.

Las Positas will be opening its 2025-26 campaign. The Hawks’ most recent result was a 112-73 loss at Citrus on March 13, 2025, which concluded their previous season.

This non-conference matchup, organized by the California Community College Athletic Association, pits the Roadrunners’ search for momentum against a Hawks squad playing its first official game under new leadership. The game offers Las Positas a fresh start and Butte a chance to reset before a demanding schedule ahead.
