WHAT: A men’s junior college basketball game at the San Jose City Tipoff tournament. WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025. WHERE: The game will be played at a neutral site as part of the event.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Interstat) — The Monterey Peninsula Lobos will seek their first win of the young season Thursday when they face the Lassen Cougars in a neutral-site California Community College contest.

Monterey Peninsula enters the game 0-2 after a pair of narrow road losses last weekend. The Lobos fell 81-80 at Los Medanos on Sunday, a game that followed a 69-51 defeat at Napa Valley on Saturday.

Lassen will be opening its 2025-26 season. The Cougars have not played a competitive game since Feb. 12, 2025, when they concluded their previous season with a 52-47 home loss to Shasta.

The matchup is part of the San Jose City Tipoff event for both teams. Monterey Peninsula will continue its tournament schedule at Modesto on Saturday, while Lassen will face the host San Jose City Jaguars on Friday.

The Lobos are led by a roster looking to build momentum early in a challenging non-conference schedule. The Cougars will look to shake off any rust and start their new campaign on a positive note.
