Blinn vs Odessa

ODESSA, Texas (Interstat) — The Odessa College Wranglers, off to a hot 6-1 start, will look to continue their strong early-season form when they host the Blinn College Buccaneers in a men’s junior college basketball matchup on Saturday.

The game, part of the Wrangler Club Shootout at the OC Sports Center, pits a surging Odessa squad against a Blinn team seeking to rebound from a tough loss.

The Wranglers are riding high after a dominant 101-60 victory over Southwestern Christian on Thursday. Jaiden Reynolds led the charge with 20 points in just 22 minutes, while Qwes Williams nearly recorded a double-double with 11 points and eight rebounds. Odessa has won three straight since its only loss to Hillsborough on Nov. 8.

Blinn (2-1) arrives in West Texas following an 88-66 home loss to Midland on Friday. Dashawn Ceaser scored 16 points in the defeat, and Desmeon Jones added 11 points and six rebounds. The Buccaneers’ two wins this season both came on the road, including a double-overtime victory at Western Texas on Nov. 6.

Odessa’s defense has been a key to its success, holding opponents to an average of 62.7 points during its current three-game win streak. Slowing down a Blinn offense that scored 100 points in a win over New Mexico Military Institute earlier this week will be a primary focus.

Tipoff is set for Saturday at the OC Sports Center.
