ODESSA, Texas (Interstat) — The undefeated Midland Chaparrals will face the Southwestern Christian Rams in a men’s junior college basketball game Saturday at the Odessa Classic.

Midland (7-0) enters the contest riding a wave of momentum after an 88-66 road victory over Blinn on Friday. The Chaparrals have showcased a balanced attack, with Cayden Reed, Nicholas Anthony and Darius Carr all posting strong performances in the win.

Southwestern Christian (4-6) looks to rebound from a 83-71 loss at New Mexico Military Institute on Friday. Despite the team’s recent struggles, Nicholas Smith delivered a standout performance with 30 points and 10 rebounds in the defeat.

The game presents a classic matchup of a high-powered, undefeated team against a struggling squad seeking a signature win. The Rams will need another big game from Smith to challenge the Chaparrals, who have won their games by an average margin of 17.4 points this season.
