LOS ALTOS HILLS, Calif. (Interstat) — Two California junior college men’s basketball teams seeking their first win of the season will meet Tuesday when the Merced Blue Devils visit the Foothill Owls.

Merced (0-2) enters the contest looking to rebound from a pair of narrow losses to open its season. The Blue Devils fell 74-65 to Sierra on Oct. 31, followed by a 64-61 road loss at Skyline on Saturday.

Foothill will be playing its official season opener. The Owls’ most recent result was an 82-72 home victory over Monterey Peninsula on Feb. 19, 2025, a game from their previous season.

The matchup presents an early opportunity for both teams to establish momentum. Merced aims to break into the win column before returning home to host Gavilan on Saturday. Foothill begins a three-game homestand, with contests against Modesto and a road game at Palo Verde to follow later in the week.

Tip-off is set for Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at Foothill College.
