Pearl River vs New Mexico Military
ODESSA, Texas (Interstat) — The Pearl River Wildcats look to snap a two-game skid when they face the New Mexico Military Broncos in a men’s junior college basketball matchup Saturday at the Wrangler Club Shootout.
Pearl River (1-2) is coming off a 75-70 home loss to Midland on Thursday. Christian Gilliland led the Wildcats with 26 points in the defeat. New Mexico Military (4-5) enters on a high note after defeating Southwestern Christian 83-71 on Friday. Taye Williams paced the Broncos with 20 points and six rebounds.
The Wildcats’ season has been a mix of results, opening with a decisive 87-56 win over Coastal Alabama before dropping their last two contests. The Broncos have been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses recently, but are 2-1 in their last three games.
This neutral-site game in Odessa presents a challenge for both teams as they navigate non-conference play. Pearl River will rely on Gilliland’s scoring punch, while New Mexico Military will look to Williams and Joel Pinto, who added 13 points in Friday’s victory.
Following this game, Pearl River’s next contest is at Shelton State on Dec. 8. New Mexico Military hosts Yavapai on Nov. 29.
