Pearl River vs Odessa

ODESSA, Texas (Interstat) — The Odessa College Wranglers, riding a wave of early-season success, will host the struggling Pearl River Wildcats in a men’s junior college basketball matchup Friday at the Wrangler Club Shootout.

The game tips off at the OC Sports Center.

Odessa (6-1) enters the contest with significant momentum after a dominant 101-60 victory over Southwestern Christian on Thursday. Key contributors in that win included Jaiden Reynolds, who scored 20 points, and Qwes Williams, who nearly posted a double-double with 11 points and eight rebounds.

In contrast, Pearl River (1-2) looks to rebound from a narrow 75-70 home loss to Midland on Thursday. The Wildcats were led in that game by Christian Gilliland, who poured in 26 points. Pearl River’s lone win this season was an 87-56 victory over Coastal Alabama on Nov. 7.

According to Interstat’s ELO system, Odessa is projected as a heavy favorite with a 77 percent probability to win.

Following this game, Odessa will host Blinn on Saturday. Pearl River continues its road trip with a game against New Mexico Military on Saturday.
