BORGER, Texas (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking to reverse early-season struggles will meet Friday when the Frank Phillips Plainsmen host the Otero Rattlers.

The Rattlers (0-7) enter the contest still searching for their first win. They are coming off a 74-64 road loss to New Mexico Military Institute on Nov. 15, their seventh consecutive defeat to open the season. Otero was led in that game by Nedum Chiadika (14 points, 7 rebounds) and Bertran Walthour Jr. (15 points, 6 rebounds).

Frank Phillips (1-5) is also looking to build momentum after a narrow 102-100 road loss to Trinidad State on Wednesday. In that high-scoring affair, Nehemiah Holmes poured in 29 points for the Plainsmen, while Bryceson Dobie added 16 points.

The Plainsmen’s lone victory this season was an 86-96 win over Dodge City on Nov. 15.

Friday’s game will be the final home contest for Frank Phillips before a two-game road trip. Otero will continue its road swing with games at Central Wyoming and Laramie County next weekend.
