SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The 2025-26 men’s junior college basketball season tips off for both the Santa Rosa Bear Cubs and City College of San Francisco Rams when they meet Sunday in the CCSF Tip Off Classic.

Neither team has played a competitive game since March, making the season opener a first look at revamped rosters. The matchup, organized by the California Community College Athletic Association, is the first of two scheduled meetings between the teams this season; they are slated to play again in Santa Rosa on Dec. 5.

Santa Rosa concluded its previous campaign with a decisive 89-69 home victory over Yuba on March 1. San Francisco also ended on a high note, defeating Fullerton 75-58 on the road in its finale on March 16.

The game at CCSF marks the beginning of a challenging early schedule for both squads. Following this contest, Santa Rosa will host San Mateo on Nov. 7, while San Francisco will welcome Redwoods on the same date.

The Rams will serve as the home team for the classic. Tipoff is set for Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025.
