Northeastern (Colo.) vs Eastern Wyoming

TORRINGTON, Wyo. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking to reverse early-season struggles will meet Thursday when the Eastern Wyoming Lancers host the Northeastern (Colo.) Plainsmen.

The Plainsmen (0-2) are still searching for their first win after opening the season with two narrow losses. They fell 76-73 to Fort Hays Tech on Nov. 11 and 79-65 at Casper on Saturday. In the loss to Casper, Trevor Thomas recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Keziah Williams led the team with 18 points.

Eastern Wyoming (2-5) has also faced a challenging schedule, dropping its last three contests. The Lancers are coming off a 79-63 road loss to Utah State Eastern on Nov. 14. Their two victories this season came against Miles (93-79) and in a non-conference matchup.

Both teams will look to their upcoming home-and-home series, which continues on Dec. 2 in Colorado, as a chance to build momentum. For now, the focus is on securing a win in the first leg of that series in Torrington.
