SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The 2025-26 men’s junior college basketball season begins in earnest Saturday as the Butte Roadrunners and City College of San Francisco Rams open their campaigns at the CCSF Tip-Off Classic.

Both teams enter the non-conference matchup with 0-0 records. The game marks the first official action for both programs since their 2024-25 seasons concluded in postseason play.

The Rams finished their previous season on a high note, earning a 75-58 road victory at Fullerton on March 16, 2025. Butte, meanwhile, looks to start fresh after a 67-61 loss at Fresno City on Feb. 26, 2025, ended its last campaign.

Saturday’s contest at CCSF is the first of a busy opening weekend for both squads. Butte will return home to host Marin on Sunday, while the Rams will also play at home Sunday against Santa Rosa.

The matchup is part of the California community college basketball schedule. The Roadrunners’ early season slate includes 10 non-conference games before league play begins, while the Rams will look to build momentum before a challenging road test at Fresno City in December.
