Compton vs San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Interstat) — The San Jose Jaguars will open their 2025-26 men’s junior college basketball season Saturday against the Compton Tartars in a non-conference matchup.

The Jaguars, who have not played a competitive game since an 80-70 loss to San Francisco on March 8, 2025, will look to start the new campaign with a win on their home court.

Compton (0-1) enters the contest looking to rebound from a season-opening 82-66 road loss to West Valley on Friday. The Tartars will aim for a better defensive performance after allowing 82 points in their first outing.

The game will serve as the season opener for San Jose, providing the Jaguars an immediate test against a Compton team seeking its first victory. The Tartars’ schedule does not ease up, as they will play four of their next five games on the road following Saturday’s contest.

San Jose begins a demanding early-season stretch, playing three home games in three days next week against Palo Verde, Lassen and Feather River.

Tip-off is set for Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, in San Jose.
