SALINAS, Calif. (Interstat) — The Hartnell and Coalinga men’s junior college basketball teams will open their new seasons Saturday in a non-conference matchup pitting the Panthers against the visiting Falcons.

Both teams enter the 2025-26 campaign looking for a fresh start after concluding the previous season with losses. Coalinga finished its prior season with an 83-72 home loss to Lemoore on Feb. 21, 2025. Hartnell’s last outing was a 102-69 road defeat against Gavilan on Feb. 5, 2025.

The game, organized by the California Community College Athletic Association, features two squads with identical 0-0 records. The contest offers an early-season test for both programs before a demanding schedule resumes next week.

Hartnell’s home opener begins a busy stretch, with a game against Allan Hancock set for Tuesday. Coalinga’s early schedule is road-heavy, with trips to Oxnard and El Camino immediately following this contest.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the teams are projected to be evenly matched, forecasting a 100-100 final score.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at Hartnell College.
