PITTSBURG, Calif. (Interstat) — The College of the Redwoods Corsairs and Los Medanos Mustangs will open their respective men’s junior college basketball seasons on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, as part of the Live Like Geno Tipoff event.

Both teams enter the non-conference matchup with 0-0 records. The game marks the first official action for both programs since the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.

Redwoods last took the court on Feb. 26, 2025, falling 76-74 to Alameda in a narrow defeat. Los Medanos concluded its previous campaign on a high note, securing a 75-67 road victory over Merritt on Feb. 20, 2025.

The contest serves as the beginning of a challenging early-season stretch for the visiting Corsairs, who will play their first seven games of the season on the road. Redwoods will travel to face Mendocino the following day.

Los Medanos, playing at home, will look to build momentum before hosting Monterey Peninsula on Sunday, Nov. 2.

Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday at Los Medanos College. The game is organized by the California Community College Athletic Association.
