MOORPARK, Calif. (Interstat) — The San Diego Miramar Jets and the Los Angeles City Cubs will open their seasons Saturday in a men’s junior college basketball matchup at the Moorpark Invitational.

Both teams enter the contest with 0-0 records. The game marks the official start of the 2025-26 campaign for each program.

The Jets last took the court in February, earning a 66-63 home victory over Palomar. The Cubs concluded their previous season with a narrow 63-61 home loss to Pasadena City, also in February.

This non-conference game, organized by the California Community College Athletic Association, serves as a season-opening test for both squads. The Jets will look to carry momentum from their previous win, while the Cubs aim to start fresh after a tight defeat to end their last campaign.

The matchup begins a demanding early-season schedule for both teams. San Diego Miramar will face a quick turnaround, playing Los Angeles Valley on Sunday. Los Angeles City is also set for a busy November, with its next game against Moorpark on Sunday.

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at the Moorpark College-hosted tournament.
