Indian Hills vs Snow
EPHRAIM, Utah (Interstat) — The Snow Badgers remained undefeated Saturday, using a dominant performance on the glass and at the free-throw line to fend off the Indian Hills Warriors 80-71 in a men’s junior college basketball game.
In a matchup of nationally prominent programs, the home-standing Badgers improved to 7-0 overall, while the Warriors saw their six-game winning streak snapped, falling to 6-1.
The game was a tale of contrasting efficiencies. While both teams made 26 field goals, Snow’s ability to draw fouls and capitalize proved decisive. The Badgers attempted 28 free throws, making 21, while Indian Hills went to the line just 15 times, converting 10. Snow also controlled the interior, outrebounding Indian Hills 44-32 and grabbing 11 offensive rebounds to the Warriors’ five.
Sean Felts led the charge for Snow, delivering a standout performance with 24 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots in 32 minutes. His presence in the paint was a constant challenge for the Indian Hills offense. McCaden Adams complemented him with 23 points and four assists, proving lethal from the charity stripe by making 11 of his 12 attempts. Aaron Bliss anchored the glass, pulling down 11 rebounds to go with eight points.
For Indian Hills, Sawyer Mayhugh led the scoring with 18 points, and Taj Au-Duke added 16 points and five rebounds. Chiang Ring provided a defensive spark off the bench with four blocks and 10 points.
The game was tightly contested throughout the first half. Indian Hills shot effectively from beyond the arc, making 11 three-pointers, but could not overcome Snow’s physical advantages. The Badgers held a narrow 39-35 lead after a back-and-forth first quarter and extended their advantage by outscoring the Warriors 41-36 in the second period.
Key sequences down the stretch involved Snow converting free throws to maintain its lead after Indian Hills threatened to close the gap. A critical three-pointer by Mason Costello brought the Warriors within three points with just over four minutes remaining, but Snow responded with a 7-0 run, capped by a McCaden Adams three-pointer, to push the lead back to 10 and effectively seal the victory.
Snow’s offense operated with high efficiency, scoring 80 points on just 67 possessions for an offensive rating of 118.9. Indian Hills, by contrast, managed 71 points from 69 possessions for an offensive rating of 102.7. The Badgers also protected the ball well, committing only six turnovers compared to eight for the Warriors.
The victory extends Snow’s strong start to the season, which includes recent decisive wins over Central Arizona and Yavapai. Indian Hills, which entered the game on a six-game winning streak that included a victory over Salt Lake, will look to rebound in its next contest.
Snow is scheduled to travel to face Northwest College on Nov. 29. Indian Hills will play at McCook Community College on Nov. 21.
