Motlow State vs Volunteer State

GALLATIN, Tenn. (Interstat) — A pair of Tennessee junior college men’s basketball teams on opposite trajectories will meet Saturday when the Motlow State Bucks visit the Volunteer State Pioneers.

The Bucks (3-1) enter the contest with momentum, coming off a dominant 105-77 home victory over Pellissippi State on Wednesday. Motlow State’s offense was firing, with Tristan Warfield, Jay’Byon Snipe and Josh Griffith all scoring in double figures.

In contrast, the Pioneers (1-3) are looking to halt a two-game skid after a 80-56 road loss to Columbia State on Wednesday. Jamal Nero led Volunteer State in that contest with 15 points and 4 assists.

The teams’ recent results against a common opponent highlight their divergent forms. On Nov. 8, Columbia State handily defeated Motlow State 107-70, while the Pioneers fell to the same opponent by 24 points this week.

Despite the records, Interstat’s game simulator projects a tightly contested matchup, forecasting a 100-100 final score.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Volunteer State’s home court.
