HOBBS, N.M. (Interstat) — RJ Nance scored 21 points to lead the New Mexico Thunderbirds to an 81-68 victory over the Seward County Saints in a men’s junior college basketball game Saturday. The Thunderbirds remained undefeated at 4-0, while the Saints fell to 5-1. New Mexico used a strong second-half performance, outscoring Seward County 48-37 after halftime. Lucas N’Gombo recorded a double-double for the Saints with 12 points and 13 rebounds, but Seward County was hampered by 25 turnovers. Kenny Fields added 15 points for the Thunderbirds in the win.
