PANAMA CITY, Fla. (Interstat) — The Gulf Coast State Commodores, off to a perfect start, will look to continue their momentum when they host the struggling Indian River State Pioneers in a men’s junior college basketball game Friday.

The game is part of the Richard Sanders GCSC Fall Classic.

Gulf Coast State (2-0) is coming off a 76-72 victory over Mineral Area last Saturday. That win followed a 93-90 overtime road win against Three Rivers on Oct. 31.

Indian River State (0-1) opened its season with a 97-80 home loss to Eastern Florida State on Oct. 31. Caleb Cameron led the Pioneers in that contest with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Adam Squire added a team-high 19 points.

The Commodores’ early success will be tested by a Pioneers team seeking its first win before a challenging stretch of its schedule.

Following Friday’s contest, Gulf Coast State will host South Georgia State on Saturday. Indian River State travels to face Chipola on Saturday.
