MURRAY, Okla. (Interstat) — The Murray State (Okla.) Aggies will look to rebound from a season-opening loss when they face the Western Texas Westerners on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at the Elite 8 Classic.

The Aggies (0-1) are coming off a 90-84 home defeat to Odessa on Monday. Despite the loss, Murray State showcased a potent offensive trio. Haki Muhammad II scored a team-high 23 points, Ashton Smith added 20 and Domantas Sarauskas contributed 17 points and six rebounds.

The Westerners (0-0) will be playing their first game of the season. Western Texas has not played a competitive game since March 2, 2023, when it fell 88-75 to Frank Phillips. This contest marks the official start of a new era for the program.

Tuesday’s matchup at the neutral-site Elite 8 Classic pits a Murray State team seeking its first win against a Western Texas squad shaking off a long hiatus. The Aggies’ high-scoring backcourt of Muhammad and Smith will be tested by a Westerners defense playing its first game in over two and a half years.

Following this game, Murray State continues its road-heavy early schedule, while Western Texas prepares for its home opener against Blinn on Thursday, Nov. 6.
