SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (Interstat) — The Western Nebraska Community College men’s basketball team will look to rebound from a season-opening loss when it hosts Dodge City Community College on Saturday at Cougar Palace.

The Cougars (0-1) fell 95-89 to Snow College in a high-scoring affair on Friday. They will face a Dodge City squad playing its first official game of the 2025-26 season.

The Conquistadors enter the contest with an 0-0 record. Their last official competition was a 85-74 road loss to Northwest Kansas Tech on March 9, 2024. This game marks the beginning of a challenging early schedule for Dodge City, which will play nine of its next 10 games away from home following this contest.

Western Nebraska will aim to tighten its defense after allowing 95 points in its opener. The Cougars’ upcoming schedule is also road-heavy, with seven of their next eight games away from Scottsbluff after facing the Conquistadors.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025.
