Laramie County vs McCook

McCOOK, Neb. (Interstat) — The McCook Indians and Laramie County Golden Eagles will open their 2025-26 men’s junior college basketball seasons against each other on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Both teams enter the contest with 0-0 records, looking to start anew after losses in their final games of the previous season. Laramie County fell 93-79 at Trinidad State on March 14, 2024, while McCook dropped its finale 99-72 at Gillette on the same date.

The game at the Peter and Dolores Graff Events Center will be the season opener for both programs. According to Interstat’s ELO system, the home-standing Indians are projected as the favorites, holding a 64% probability to win.

This early-season matchup will be the first of two meetings between the Region IX foes this season. They are scheduled for a rematch just over a month later on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Laramie County.

The contest kicks off a challenging opening stretch for both squads. McCook will hit the road for a game at Eastern Florida State on Nov. 6. Laramie County’s upcoming schedule includes a tough Arizona road trip, facing Cochise on Nov. 14 and Eastern Arizona on Nov. 15.
