PANAMA CITY, Fla. (Interstat) — The Gulf Coast State Commodores erased a halftime deficit to defeat the Mineral Area Cardinals 76-72 in a men’s junior college basketball game Saturday.

Mineral Area led 37-34 at halftime but was outscored 42-35 in the second half by Gulf Coast State. The loss drops the Cardinals to 0-2 on the season, while the Commodores improve to 2-0. Terron Garrett led Mineral Area with 17 points and Nazir Allen recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in the losing effort.
