FULTON, Miss. (Interstat) — The Itawamba men’s basketball team will look to avenge its last official result when it opens the 2025-26 season by hosting Coastal Alabama on Saturday, Nov. 1.

The Indians’ most recent game was a 74-64 home loss to Pearl River on March 9, 2024, which concluded their previous campaign. This season opener presents a fresh start for both squads, as each holds an 0-0 record across all competitions.

The game will be the first of the season for the visiting Sun Chiefs of Coastal Alabama. Itawamba, however, will be playing its second game in a quick turnaround, having hosted Lawson State just two days prior on Monday, Nov. 3.

The matchup kicks off a challenging early-season stretch for both teams. For Coastal Alabama, it begins a two-game road trip through Mississippi, with a game at Pearl River looming on Friday, Nov. 7. Itawamba, meanwhile, will hit the road for two of its next three contests following the season opener.

Tipoff is set for Saturday at Itawamba’s home court.
