Utah State Eastern vs Western Wyoming

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (Interstat) — The Western Wyoming Mustangs will open their 2025-26 men’s junior college basketball season at home against the Utah State Eastern Eagles on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Both teams enter the contest with 0-0 records, looking to start the new campaign with a victory. The game marks the official debut for both programs after their 2023-24 seasons ended in narrow road losses last March. Utah State Eastern fell 79-78 at Southern Idaho on March 8, 2024, while Western Wyoming dropped its finale 90-81 at Laramie County on March 9, 2024.

According to Interstat’s ELO system, the visiting Eagles are projected as the favorites, holding a 68.90 percent probability to win.

The intrastate rivalry will see a quick rematch, as the Mustangs are scheduled to travel to play the Eagles in Price, Utah, just two weeks later on Saturday, Nov. 15.

For Utah State Eastern, this contest begins a challenging 10-game stretch that includes eight home games in November and December. Western Wyoming’s early schedule features a mix of home and road tests, including a trip to Southern Idaho on Thursday, Nov. 6.
