NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (Interstat) — The North Platte Knights and Laramie County Golden Eagles will open their seasons against each other on Friday, Oct. 31, in a men’s junior college basketball matchup.

Both teams enter the contest with 0-0 records, looking to start the 2025-26 campaign with a victory. The game marks the first official action for both programs since their 2023-24 seasons ended in narrow road losses last March.

Laramie County concluded its previous season with a 79-93 loss at Trinidad State on March 14, 2024. North Platte’s last outing was an 87-91 overtime defeat at Otero on March 9, 2024.

The Halloween night tip-off begins a challenging early schedule for both squads. The Golden Eagles will travel to face McCook the following night, Nov. 1. The Knights will also be in action Saturday, hosting Eastern Wyoming.

The two teams are scheduled to meet again just over a month later, on Friday, Dec. 5, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Friday’s game at North Platte Community College is set for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
