MARIANNA, Fla. (Interstat) — The South Georgia Tech Jets defeated the Chipola Indians 78-76 in a men’s junior college basketball game that went to overtime on Friday. The Jets, who improved to 1-0, built a large early lead as they outscored Chipola 69-69 through the first two quarters. Chipola, now 0-1, mounted a comeback to force the extra period but ultimately fell short in the upset. Hedrens Bartelus led Chipola with 19 points and five rebounds in the losing effort. The Indians were projected to win with a 64 percent probability according to Interstat’s ELO system.
