SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (Interstat) — The Western Nebraska Community College men’s basketball team will open its 2025-26 season against Snow College on Friday, Oct. 31, at Cougar Palace.

Both teams enter the season opener with 0-0 records. The matchup will be the first for the Cougars under new head coach Corey Fehringer. The Badgers are also under new leadership, with Rob Nielson taking over the program.

Western Nebraska looks to rebound from a season-ending 81-56 loss to Trinidad State on March 16, 2024. Snow last played on Feb. 29, 2024, falling 86-64 to Salt Lake Community College.

The game tips off a challenging opening stretch for both squads. The Cougars will host Dodge City Community College the following night, while the Badgers will travel to face Casper College on Nov. 1.

The non-conference contest will serve as an early-season test before both teams dive into their respective regional schedules. The two programs are scheduled to meet again on Dec. 12 in Ephraim, Utah.
