Cornerstone vs Grace

WINONA LAKE, Ind. (Interstat) — Grace will host Cornerstone in a men’s NAIA basketball game Wednesday at Orthopaedic Capital Center. The Lancers enter at 2-1, while the Golden Eagles are 1-1. The matchup gives Grace a home opportunity against a Cornerstone team still sorting out its early-season form, with both programs looking to build momentum before conference play deepens.

Grace has won two of its first three games and is coming off a 95-73 road win at Briar Cliff. Ian Raasch, the Lancers’ player to watch, produced 16 points, seven rebounds and one assist in that victory. Hunter Walston added 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and one block, while Tyler Raasch finished with nine points, six rebounds, one assist and one block. Grace’s other results include a 99-83 home win over IU Northwest and an 83-68 road loss at Morningside. In the loss at Morningside, Ian Raasch scored 18 points and grabbed three rebounds.

Cornerstone dropped its most recent game, falling 83-66 to Indiana Wesleyan at home. Levi Schultz led the Golden Eagles with 15 points, five rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes. Myles Steffen added 11 points and four rebounds, and Titus Spencer contributed eight points, one rebound and three assists. Cornerstone’s other result was an 86-69 road win at Spring Arbor, a game in which Schultz posted 22 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.

Schultz has been Cornerstone’s most consistent offensive option early in the season. In his last two games, the Golden Eagles guard has averaged 18.5 points, eight rebounds and four assists while shooting with confidence and creating chances for teammates. His ability to score from the perimeter and attack the glass will be central to Cornerstone’s hopes of keeping pace with Grace.

Ian Raasch has been equally important for Grace. Over his last two games, he has averaged 17 points and five rebounds, giving the Lancers a reliable interior presence. His production around the basket and on the boards could test a Cornerstone front line that has had mixed results through two games.

The game will be played at Orthopaedic Capital Center, where Grace will try to use home-court advantage to control tempo and extend possessions. Cornerstone will need a strong start to quiet the home crowd and force Grace into half-court decisions. Both teams have shown the ability to score in bunches, making rebounding and turnover control likely to shape the outcome.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a final score of Grace 85, Cornerstone 82.
