Dordt vs Waldorf

FOREST CITY, Iowa (Interstat) — Dordt will visit Waldorf on Tuesday for a men’s NAIA basketball game at Hanson Fieldhouse in Forest City, Iowa. The Defenders enter at 1-0, while the Warriors are 0-1.

Dordt opened its season with an 80-60 home win over Benedictine. Connor Millikan, a player to watch for the Defenders, finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds and four assists while playing 38 minutes. Judson Henkel added 13 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one block in 16 minutes, and Brayden Beckering contributed 10 points, six rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes.

Millikan’s production helped Dordt control the opener, and his combination of scoring and rebounding will be a central focus for Waldorf’s defense. The Defenders will look to carry that momentum into their first road test of the young season.

Waldorf dropped its opener at Graceland 77-72. Ethan Round, Connor Davidson and Krys Watley were among Waldorf’s most productive players in that game. The Warriors will be seeking their first win of the season and will try to use the home court at Hanson Fieldhouse to bounce back.

The matchup features two teams still settling into the early portion of their schedules. Dordt has the advantage of an unbeaten record and a proven scorer in Millikan. Waldorf will counter with home-floor familiarity and an urgency to even its record. The Warriors’ ability to limit Millikan’s touches and contest the Defenders on the glass could shape the contest. Waldorf also will need to establish a consistent offensive rhythm after coming up short in its opener. The Warriors will try to force turnovers and create second-chance opportunities on their home floor.

Dordt’s upcoming schedule includes a home game against Friends before road contests at Dakota State and Northwestern (Iowa), among others. Waldorf’s slate continues with a road game at Clarke before a home matchup against Concordia (Neb.). Both teams are working through a demanding stretch of nonconference and early league play, making the matchup a useful early measure of form.

Hanson Fieldhouse will host the men’s matchup as Dordt attempts to remain perfect and Waldorf seeks its first victory. The Defenders’ early efficiency and Millikan’s recent form give them a notable edge on paper, while the Warriors will aim to make the most of home surroundings and a fresh start. Dordt’s supporting cast showed balance in the opener, with Henkel and Beckering providing additional scoring and rebounding. Waldorf will need contributions across its rotation to keep pace.

Interstat’s game simulator projects Dordt to defeat Waldorf 83-76.
