Virgin Islands vs Dillard

NEW ORLEANS (Interstat) — The Dillard Bleu Devils, riding a wave of recent home success, are heavily favored when they host the struggling Virgin Islands Buccaneers in an NAIA men’s basketball matchup on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Dillard (10-8) enters having won four of its last five games at home, including an 87-74 victory over Oakwood on Saturday. The Bleu Devils’ offense has been potent during this stretch, averaging 86.2 points in those four wins.

The Bleu Devils are led by guard Devin Lewis, who has scored in double figures in at least five consecutive games. Lewis is coming off a 17-point, four-rebound performance against Oakwood and provides consistent scoring and defensive energy.

Virgin Islands (2-9) seeks to halt a three-game skid, most recently an 85-75 home loss to Oakwood on Friday. The Buccaneers have found wins hard to come by, with their last victory dating to December 9.

Their primary threat is forward Sebastian Dokum, who is capable of dominant performances. Dokum posted a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds in the loss to Oakwood. Containing him will be a key focus for Dillard’s defense.

While the Buccaneers showed offensive balance with three players scoring in double figures against Oakwood, defensive consistency has been an issue. They have allowed an average of 81.6 points per game this season.

According to Interstat’s ELO system, Dillard is projected with an 88.90 percent probability to win. The Bleu Devils will look to leverage their superior record and home-court advantage, while Virgin Islands aims to defy the odds and secure a rare road victory.

Tip-off is set for Sunday at Dillard’s campus venue.
