West Virginia vs. Creighton
Preview: West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Creighton Bluejays
LAS VEGAS (Interstat) — Two teams riding the momentum of impressive offensive performances will meet Saturday when West Virginia faces Creighton in a men’s NCAA Division I basketball matchup at the 2026 MBB College Basketball Crown.
The Mountaineers (19-14) arrive after an 82-77 overtime victory against Stanford on Thursday. Guard Honor Huff led the way with 21 points in 40 minutes, continuing a strong late-season run. In his last three games, Huff is averaging 18.7 points.
West Virginia has won three of its last five, though its offense has been inconsistent, scoring 48 points in a loss to BYU on March 11 before the overtime win against Stanford.
Creighton (16-17) is also coming off a high-scoring win, defeating Rutgers 82-69 on Thursday. Guard Nik Graves powered that victory with 28 points and eight assists. Graves has averaged 21.5 points over his last two contests, providing a vital spark for the Bluejays’ attack.
The Bluejays’ season has been marked by streaks, including a notable road win at then-Connecticut on Feb. 18, but also a five-game losing skid in late February.
This neutral-site game at T-Mobile Arena pits West Virginia’s resilience against Creighton’s explosive potential. The Mountaineers will look to Huff and forward Treysen Eaglestaff, who added 18 points against Stanford, to control the tempo. Creighton will rely on Graves’ playmaking and the supporting scoring of Jasen Green and Josh Dix, who combined for 30 points in the Rutgers win.
A key matchup will be in the backcourt, where Huff’s scoring will challenge Graves’ dual-threat ability as a scorer and distributor. Both teams have shown they can win close games, with West Virginia 3-1 in overtime contests this season and Creighton having several narrow decisions in Big East play.
Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. EDT Saturday. The game is part of a multi-day event in Las Vegas featuring non-conference matchups.
