Wichita State at Oklahoma State
STILLWATER, Okla. (Interstat) — Two teams riding late-season momentum will meet Sunday when the Wichita State Shockers visit the Oklahoma State Cowboys at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Wichita State (23-11) enters having won five of its last six games, including a 74-70 home victory over Wyoming on Tuesday. The Shockers are led by guard TJ Williams, who scored 17 points in 18 minutes off the bench in that win. Over his last seven games, Williams is averaging 10.4 points per contest, providing a consistent scoring spark.
Oklahoma State (20-14) has also found a rhythm, winning four of its last five. The Cowboys are coming off an 84-80 win over Davidson on Tuesday, powered by 20 points from guard Kanye Clary and 15 points from forward Christian Coleman. Coleman has been a key figure, averaging 13.1 points over his last eight outings.
The matchup features contrasting strengths. Wichita State has shown offensive firepower, scoring 84 points or more in three of its recent victories. Oklahoma State has engaged in several high-scoring affairs, including a 111-104 overtime win at UCF and the 92-83 road victory at Colorado.
Historically a tough venue for visitors, Gallagher-Iba Arena will test a Shockers squad that is 9-7 in true road games this season. The Cowboys are 13-5 at home.
Oddsmakers favor Oklahoma State by 3.5 points, with the total points over/under set at 164.5. The line reflects the Cowboys’ home-court advantage and the teams’ recent propensity for offensive production.
Tipoff is scheduled for Sunday, March 22, in Stillwater. Both teams will look to bolster their postseason resumes with a quality non-conference victory in the final stretch of the regular season.
