Liberty at Nevada

Preview: Liberty Flames at Nevada Wolf Pack

RENO, Nev. (Interstat) — Two teams riding momentum from strong regular-season finishes will clash Saturday when the Liberty Flames visit the Nevada Wolf Pack in a nonconference men’s basketball matchup.

The Flames (26-7), coming off a 77-71 road win at George Mason on Tuesday, bring one of the nation’s better records into Lawlor Events Center. They have won three of their last five but face a challenging road test.

Nevada (23-12) has found its rhythm late, winning four of its last five, including an 89-75 home victory over Murray State on Wednesday. The Wolf Pack’s offense has been potent during this stretch, averaging 81.4 points in those four wins.

A key matchup will feature Liberty guard Josh Smith against Nevada’s Vaughn Weems. Smith is coming off a season-high 23 points in 31 minutes against George Mason, providing a scoring spark. Weems has been consistently excellent for Nevada, scoring 23 points in the win over Murray State and averaging 18.1 points over his last seven games.

Liberty’s attack balances Smith’s backcourt production with forward Brett Decker, who played all 40 minutes and scored 17 points in the last outing. Nevada counters with a multifaceted offense where guard Corey Camper (17 points, 5 assists vs. Murray State) facilitates alongside Weems.

Nevada has been installed as a 7.5-point pregame favorite by sportsbooks, with the over/under total set at 147.5 points.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. PDT on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
