ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — Purdue dominated Queens (NC) 104-71 in a men’s NCAA Division I tournament first-round game Friday at Enterprise Center.

The Boilermakers, now 28-8, led 45-33 at halftime and pulled away in the second half. Braden Smith led Purdue with 26 points and eight assists. Trey Kaufman-Renn added 25 points.

The Royals, who finish their season 21-14, were led by AJ McKee’s 19 points. Purdue’s balanced attack proved too much, as the Boilermakers shot efficiently and controlled the game throughout to advance.
