SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — Utah State overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Villanova 86-76 in a men’s NCAA Division I playoff game Friday at Frontwave Arena. The Aggies, who trailed 39-37 at the break, outscored the Wildcats 49-37 in the second half. The victory improved Utah State’s record to 29-6, while Villanova finished its season at 24-9. A crowd of 11,418 watched the contest. Utah State, a pregame favorite, covered the spread as the combined score went over the projected total. The Aggies advance to face Long Island on Sunday.
