NORFOLK, Va. (Interstat) — Kyric Davis scored 23 points to lead North Carolina Central to a 59-53 victory over Delaware State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Friday at Constant Convocation Center.

The Eagles built a 32-21 halftime lead and withstood a second-half push from the Hornets. Delaware State’s Ponce James scored 17 points and Rahmir Moore added 13. North Carolina Central’s defense forced 14 turnovers and recorded nine steals.

North Carolina Central improved to 14-17 overall. Delaware State fell to 8-22.
