CHICAGO (Interstat) — Nick Boyd scored 38 points as Wisconsin edged Illinois 91-88 in overtime in a Big Ten men’s basketball game Friday afternoon at United Center. The Badgers, who trailed by six at halftime, forced the extra period and outscored the Fighting Illini 13-10 in overtime. John Blackwell added 31 points for Wisconsin. David Mirkovic and Keaton Wagler each scored 19 for Illinois. The Badgers sealed the win at the free-throw line, making 25 of 30 attempts, while Illinois went 9 for 15. A crowd of 18,988 watched Wisconsin improve to 24-9. Illinois fell to 24-8.
