Northwestern Upsets Indiana in Big Ten Tournament Showdown

CHICAGO (Interstat) — Nick Martinelli scored 28 points to lead Northwestern to a 74-61 victory over Indiana in a Big Ten Conference men’s basketball game Wednesday at United Center.

The Wildcats, who improved to 15-18, used a dominant second half to pull away. After trailing 37-36 at halftime, Northwestern outscored the Hoosiers 38-24 after the break. Jake West added 18 points for Northwestern.

Lamar Wilkerson scored 17 points for Indiana, which fell to 18-14. Tayton Conerway added 14 points off the bench. The Hoosiers’ offense stalled in the second half, managing only 24 points.

Northwestern secured the win despite being a pregame underdog, sweeping the season series from Indiana after a win in Bloomington last month.
