South Carolina vs. Oklahoma
Preview: South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Oklahoma Sooners
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — The South Carolina Gamecocks and Oklahoma Sooners will meet in a men’s NCAA Division I basketball game Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the SEC Championship tournament.
The Gamecocks (13-18) enter as the visiting team, fresh off a 64-61 road win at Mississippi on March 7. The Sooners (17-13) are the home team and are riding a three-game winning streak, including an 88-85 overtime victory at Texas on March 7.
South Carolina will lean on guard Meechie Johnson, who has been a consistent offensive force. He is averaging 20.6 points over his last seven games, including a 26-point performance at Alabama on Feb. 14 and a 21-point, nine-assist effort in a win over Mississippi State on Feb. 21.
Oklahoma counters with guard Xzayvier Brown, who is coming off a 21-point, four-assist game in the win over Texas. During the Sooners’ current win streak, Brown averaged 17.7 points, highlighted by a 20-point outing in an 83-67 win at LSU on Feb. 28.
The teams met earlier this season on Jan. 20 in Columbia, South Carolina, with the Gamecocks securing an 85-76 home victory.
South Carolina’s season has been marked by inconsistency, with a 3-7 record in its last 10 games prior to the SEC tournament. The Gamecocks’ defense will be tested, having allowed 87 or more points in four of those losses.
Oklahoma has found form late, winning four of its last five to improve its postseason resume. The Sooners have shown high-scoring capability, topping 90 points three times in February.
The matchup pits South Carolina’s standout individual scorer in Johnson against a surging Oklahoma squad seeking to advance in the conference tournament. The winner will move on in the SEC Championship bracket.
