Pittsburgh Edges Stanford in ACC Tournament Thriller

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Interstat) — Barry Dunning scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Pittsburgh held off a furious Stanford rally for a 64-63 victory in an Atlantic Coast Conference tournament game Tuesday at Spectrum Center.

The Panthers led 31-23 at halftime and by as many as 14 before the Cardinal mounted a second-half charge. Stanford outscored Pittsburgh 40-33 after intermission but fell just short. Dunning, a 6-foot-6 guard from Mobile, Alabama, led all scorers in 40 minutes of action.

Pittsburgh improved to 12-19, while Stanford dropped to 20-12. The Panthers advanced to face North Carolina State on Wednesday.
