Preview: Temple Owls at Tulsa Golden Hurricane

TULSA, Okla. (Interstat) — The surging Tulsa Golden Hurricane will look to close their regular season with momentum when they host the inconsistent Temple Owls in a men’s NCAA Division I basketball game Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Tulsa (24-6) enters the finale having won three straight games decisively, including a 93-66 road rout of East Carolina on Thursday. The Golden Hurricane’s offense has been potent, scoring 90 or more points in three of their last five contests.

A key catalyst is guard Tylen Riley, who is averaging 15.4 points and 6.6 assists over his last seven games. His playmaking was on full display with 16 points and seven assists against East Carolina and 15 points with eight assists in a win over Tulane on Feb. 25.

Temple (16-13) snapped a five-game losing streak with an emphatic 89-60 home victory over Tulane on Thursday. The Owls’ success largely hinges on the scoring of guard Aiden Tobiason. He has topped 18 points in four of his last six outings, including a 21-point performance in the win over Tulane.

However, Temple’s recent road form has been a struggle. The Owls have lost four consecutive games away from home, with defeats at Florida Atlantic, Wichita State, and others during their recent skid.

The teams have faced several common American Athletic Conference opponents this season, with Tulsa boasting superior results. The Golden Hurricane defeated Tulane by 34 points and East Carolina by 27, while Temple’s wins over those teams came by 29 and eight points, respectively. Tulsa also posted a 100-74 victory over Texas-San Antonio, a team Temple beat by six on the road.

For Tulsa, a win would solidify a high seed for the upcoming conference tournament and bolster its NCAA Tournament resume. Temple seeks a critical road victory to improve its standing and build confidence heading into postseason play.

Tip-off is set for Sunday afternoon at the Reynolds Center. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
