Memphis at Tulane
Preview: Memphis Tigers at Tulane Green Wave
NEW ORLEANS (Interstat) — Two American Athletic Conference men’s basketball teams looking to halt slides will meet Sunday when the Tulane Green Wave hosts the Memphis Tigers.
The game at Devlin Fieldhouse is scheduled for a 3 p.m. EST tip-off on March 8, 2026.
Tulane (16-13) enters having lost three straight, most recently an 89-60 road defeat at Temple on Thursday. The Green Wave have struggled defensively during the skid, allowing an average of 89.7 points per game.
Memphis (12-18) is in a deeper tailspin, having lost seven of its last eight games. The Tigers are coming off a 96-89 home loss to South Florida on Thursday, their fourth consecutive defeat.
The teams met just over a month ago in Memphis, with Tulane escaping FedExForum with a 78-76 victory on Feb. 1. That result will be on the minds of the Tigers, who have not played since that narrow loss.
A key matchup will feature the teams’ lead guards. Memphis will rely on Dug McDaniel, who is coming off a 25-point, 7-assist performance against South Florida. Over his last four games, McDaniel is averaging 22 points per contest, providing a bright spot for the struggling Tigers.
Tulane counters with Rowan Brumbaugh, who tallied 14 points and 7 assists in the loss to Temple. Brumbaugh has been a consistent contributor, scoring in double figures in six of his last seven outings.
For Memphis, finding secondary scoring behind McDaniel will be critical. Zach Davis (17 points) and Sincere Parker (14 points) provided support against South Florida and will need to replicate that effort.
Tulane seeks more production from its supporting cast after Scotty Williams (12 points) was the only other Green Wave player to reach double figures against Temple.
Both teams will be desperate for a win to build momentum heading into the conference tournament. Memphis aims to salvage a difficult season, while Tulane looks to solidify its positioning and end the regular season on a high note.
