Texas Christian vs. Wisconsin
SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — Two teams riding high from offensive outbursts will meet Friday when Wisconsin faces Texas Christian in the MBB Rady Children’s Invitational.
The Badgers (5-1) and Horned Frogs (4-2) both enter the neutral-site contest at San Diego on the heels of impressive victories Thursday.
Wisconsin dismantled Providence 104-83 behind a career-high 36 points from Nick Boyd. Nolan Winter added 19 points and Austin Rapp scored 20.
TCU earned a hard-fought 84-80 road win against Florida. Brock Harding led the Horned Frogs with 19 points and 12 assists, while David Punch added 19 points and Jace Posey scored a team-high 21 points off the bench.
The Badgers’ lone loss was a 98-70 defeat at BYU. TCU’s two setbacks came against Michigan and New Orleans, both by four points.
This non-conference matchup serves as a key test for both squads before they dive into the bulk of their schedules. Wisconsin’s high-powered offense, which has scored 94 or more points in four of its five wins, will be challenged by a TCU team finding its rhythm after back-to-back victories.
The game is scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. PST tip-off at the tournament venue.
