Syracuse vs. Iowa State

AMES, Iowa (Interstat) — The undefeated Iowa State Cyclones will put their perfect record on the line Wednesday against the Syracuse Orange in a neutral-site men’s basketball showdown at the Players Era Championship in Las Vegas.

The Cyclones (6-0) are coming off an impressive 78-60 victory over Creighton on Tuesday. Joshua Jefferson led the way with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Killyan Toure added a team-high 20 points. Iowa State’s resume also includes a tight 83-82 road win against Saint John’s.

Syracuse (4-2) arrives in Nevada after dropping back-to-back games against ranked opponents. The Orange fell 71-60 at Kansas on Tuesday, following an overtime loss at Houston. William Kyle was a bright spot against the Jayhawks, posting 9 points and 9 rebounds.

The game pits a high-powered Iowa State offense against a Syracuse team looking to regain its early-season form after starting 4-0. The Cyclones have scored at least 88 points in four of their six wins.

Wednesday’s contest is the first of a challenging two-game stretch for Syracuse, which hosts Tennessee next. Iowa State’s next test comes on the road against Purdue on Dec. 6.
