HOUSTON (Interstat) — Texas Southern dominated Mississippi Valley State 84-51 in a men’s NCAA Division I basketball game Monday night at Health & P.E. Arena.

The Tigers led 41-24 at halftime and maintained control throughout before an announced crowd of 1,803. The victory improved Texas Southern’s record to 3-12 this season, while the Delta Devils fell to 1-17.

Texas Southern was a heavy pregame favorite and easily covered the spread in a game that fell well under the projected total. Both teams are members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Mississippi Valley State visits Grambling on Jan. 24, while Texas Southern plays at Alcorn State on Jan. 17.
